April 21, 2009 - Attorney General Swanson Receives "Pro Patria" Award

Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson received the “Pro Patria” award Monday night from the United States Department of Defense.  Swanson received this year’s public employer award as the employer who “has provided the most exceptional support of our national defense through leadership practices and personnel policies that support their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.”  -ABC Newspapers.

Those who provide assistance to military families say calls about abusive collectors are rising.  Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson formed a unit within the office to specialize on veterans issues.  She urges military families to promptly report collection agency abuse to her staff.  -Star Tribune
