In Lori's Words

Lori's editorials and columns get at the heart of her philosophy...

"Stampede: Bulls, Bears & Government Regulation."

Lori believes the entrepreneurial spirit of America makes it great but — wanting accountability – she also believes that government failed us when it didn’t hold banks accountable for unsound lending and risky financial practices.  This is the heart of her column.

"Bush v. The American Citizen"

Lori believes that federal agencies dropped the ball in their role as regulators—and believes that states should be allowed to do better for their citizens.  This is the heart of her editorial.

"Veto Ink Spills On Homeowners"

Lori believes that foreclosure wreaks havoc on the individual families and torpedos home values for responsible homeowners who played by the rules.  She believes that foreclosure should be a last resort.  This is heart of her editorial on a bill she drafted—vetoed by the Governor— to require mediation prior to foreclosure.

"Health Care And Credit Scores Don't Mix."

Lori believes that a person’s credit score should not dictate their access to health care.  This is the heart of her editorial supporting a bill she drafted to prohibit credit scoring of patients by hospitals – a bill later vetoed by the Governor.

"Here Comes The Hype - We'd Better Be Ready."

Lori believes that senior citizens should not be easy prey to financial con artists.  This is the heart of her editorial about a bill she drafted to better regulate reverse mortgages—a bill that was vetoed by the Governor.
